Job Description
Border Foods is one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America, founded from the vision of two brothers who aspired to open a Mexican restaurant. This family-operated business has grown substantially over the years, becoming a significant player in the fast-food industry. At Border Foods, the core philosophy centers around a people-first mantra. The company fosters a collaborative environment spanning all roles, from cooks to cashiers to restaurant managers. This culture of unity, continuous learning, and evolution is a driving force toward fulfilling their mission of improving lives through exceptional service and opportunities for growth.
The General Manager role at Border Foods is a pivotal position dedicated to embodying and reinforcing the organization’s core values: Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. As a General Manager, you will lead by example to shape the restaurant’s operational success and create an environment where both employees and guests thrive. You will be entrusted with the full operations of the restaurant, ensuring the delivery of outstanding food quality and exceptional customer service. Your leadership will foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture that supports professional development and operational excellence.
This role offers unparalleled earning potential with industry-leading pay, including a base salary that can go up to $100,000 annually along with significant bonus opportunities. Border Foods also provides a unique incentive program where top-performing General Managers are rewarded with an all-expense-paid trip to Mexico, a testament to the company’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating success. The compensation package further includes education programs such as GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits available to all employees, even part-time staff.
Job responsibilities extend beyond daily restaurant operations to include strategic planning, team building, performance monitoring, and maintaining health and safety standards. The General Manager will also manage financial aspects through profit and loss (P&L) evaluation, labor and inventory controls, and loss prevention measures. Moreover, this role supports a vibrant team culture by resolving employee issues proactively, fostering open communication, and instilling a recognition culture that promotes motivation and job satisfaction.
At Border Foods, being a General Manager means much more than managing a restaurant; it is about making a meaningful impact on employees’ lives and enhancing customer experiences. This leadership position requires resilience, adaptability, and a passion for excellence to help the company continue its remarkable growth trajectory while maintaining its family-oriented values. Border Foods emphasizes equal employment opportunities and fosters an environment free from discrimination, encouraging diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Joining Border Foods means you become part of a dynamic and supportive family that values your growth and well-being. With benefits like paid vacation and holidays, a vacation donation program, free food, and a robust bonus program that can add up to $40,000 annually, this role provides an exceptional work-life balance and career development path. The company expects a minimum commitment of 50 hours per week to meet business demands, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays, ensuring flexible operations and customer satisfaction. Overall, the General Manager position at Border Foods is an outstanding opportunity for dedicated professionals looking to lead with integrity and excel in the restaurant management field while enjoying a rewarding career journey.
