Job Description
Border Foods began as a simple vision shared by two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has since blossomed into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America. Known for their growth and commitment to core values, Border Foods operates with a people-first mantra that places emphasis on the employees, from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers, shaping a collaborative and empowering workplace culture. The company prides itself on cultivating environments that foster learning, development, and personal growth, all while serving delicious food and delivering excellent customer service. Border Foods is much more than a workplace; it is a family where each team member is valued, respected, and inspired to contribute their best every day.
The General Manager role at Border Foods is pivotal to upholding and exemplifying the company’s core values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. This leadership position demands a strong commitment to operational excellence, team development, and delivering superior guest experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire restaurant operation and building a cohesive team that provides high-quality food and friendly service consistently. This position offers competitive pay that can reach up to $100,000 annually, including base salary and bonus potential. Additionally, Border Foods offers a unique incentive program where top performers earn the opportunity to participate in an annual trip to Mexico, highlighting the company’s dedication to recognizing and rewarding excellence.
In this role, you will lead by example, ensuring that all team members meet the standards of food safety, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiencies that make Border Foods stand out. The General Manager creates a safe, welcoming environment where all employees and guests thrive, is responsible for scheduling and deployment, maintaining the point of sale system, and adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations. You will also be instrumental in financial management, including interpreting profit and loss statements and controlling labor, inventory, and waste to optimize profitability. The role emphasizes strategic planning, effective staff recruitment and development, and continuous coaching to build a motivated team aligned with Border Foods’ goals.
Border Foods supports their employees with a comprehensive array of benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage even for part-time employees. Educational advancement is encouraged through GED programs, tuition reimbursement, and scholarships. Paid time off including vacation, sick, and holiday pay is offered alongside a vacation donation program, making work-life balance achievable. Employees enjoy free meals on shift and a supportive culture that promotes career growth. The physical demands of this job involve regular sitting, standing, bending, and lifting, all manageable with reasonable accommodation. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Border Foods embraces diversity and inclusion across all aspects of employment, fostering an environment free from discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.
It is important to note that this employment is with a franchisee of Taco Bell, not the corporate entity itself. The franchisee independently sets wages and benefits, which may vary by location. Working at Border Foods offers an exceptional opportunity to be part of a thriving team within a successful restaurant organization that values integrity, family-like culture, and excellence in service and operations. If you are passionate about leadership in the restaurant industry, committed to upholding high standards, and driven to grow professionally while making a positive impact, Border Foods welcomes your application for General Manager.
