Job Description

Border Foods began as a vision shared between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has since evolved into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America. What started as a small idea has blossomed into a thriving restaurant enterprise known for its committed, people-first approach to business. At Border Foods, the company culture revolves around inclusivity, respect, and empowerment, making it a place where employees at all levels—from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers—feel valued and supported. The company's dedication to its core values, which include Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment, has been instrumental in its sustained growth and reputation in the restaurant industry.

Border Foods invites passionate and driven professionals to join their team as a General Manager, a pivotal role responsible for the overall success and smooth operation of the restaurant. The General Manager acts as a leader and ambassador of the Border Foods family, charged with fostering a positive and productive work environment. This position focuses on unlocking the full potential of employees while ensuring guests have a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. General Managers are entrusted with creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive atmosphere that allows everyone—staff and guests alike—to thrive. The role is dynamic, requiring hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.

Earning potential is competitive, with salaries ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 annually, augmented by a lucrative bonus program where General Managers can earn up to an additional $40,000 per year. Beyond compensation, Border Foods offers unparalleled career development opportunities, including education programs such as GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarship programs, and a supportive culture that nurtures career growth. Notably, top performers are rewarded with an exclusive trip to Mexico, celebrating their success on the company’s Best of the Best trip. Comprehensive benefits are provided for all employees, even part-time team members, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as free food, paid vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, and a unique vacation donation program.

As a General Manager at Border Foods, you will be the cornerstone of the restaurant’s success, responsible for leading a strong team that consistently delivers excellent food quality and friendly service. You will embody the company’s core values by demonstrating integrity, accountability, and a commitment to teamwork. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily operations, scheduling staff effectively, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, driving customer satisfaction, and managing financial aspects such as profitability and loss control. Your leadership will foster a supportive workplace where employees are motivated, recognized, and empowered to grow professionally and personally. This role requires someone with a minimum of three years restaurant or retail experience, a ServSafe certification, and the capability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

Physically, the General Manager role involves a combination of sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently throughout the workday, with accommodations available as needed. Border Foods is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities, and is committed to creating an inclusive environment free from discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation. It is important to note that candidates hired will be employed by Border Foods as an independent franchisee of Taco Bell, not by Taco Bell Corporation or its affiliates, with wages and benefits set independently.
