Job Description
Border Foods began as a humble idea between two brothers with a passion for providing authentic Mexican cuisine, evolving into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America. Founded on a commitment to quality, community, and teamwork, Border Foods operates multiple restaurant locations, each dedicated to delivering a friendly and efficient dining experience that customers have come to love. The company prides itself on a people-first mantra, fostering an environment where employees at every level—from cooks and cashiers to managers—can learn, grow, and thrive. Border Foods embraces core values including Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment, which are embedded into daily operations and the overall company culture.
The role of General Manager at Border Foods is critical to the ongoing success and growth of each restaurant. This position is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire restaurant operation, ensuring the delivery of great food, friendly service, and a safe, welcoming environment for both employees and guests. As a General Manager, you will reinforce the core values of Border Foods and motivate your team to achieve exceptional performance standards. This role requires a strategic mindset to deliver profit through smart planning, financial oversight, and effective team management. It offers a unique opportunity for career growth within a supportive culture that values excellence and employee empowerment.
General Managers at Border Foods earn competitive pay, with potential earnings up to $100,000 annually, combining base salary and bonuses. The company rewards high performance with exciting incentives, including an annual trip to Mexico for top performers, a comprehensive bonus program, and education support like GED and tuition reimbursement programs. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance available even for part-time employees, paid vacation, sick and holiday pay, a vacation donation program, and free meals. Border Foods emphasizes work-life balance and encourages a positive workplace culture that supports personal and professional development.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating unity within your team through strong leadership and effective communication. You will ensure operational excellence by maintaining health and safety standards, managing inventory and cash handling processes, and using financial data such as profit and loss statements to drive business decisions. Empowerment plays a key role in your responsibilities, as you will identify growth opportunities for your team members, provide ongoing coaching, and foster a learning environment that promotes continuous development and team success.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in restaurant or retail management, possess ServeSafe certification, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. You should demonstrate a proven ability to hire, train, and retain top talent, manage complex scheduling, and navigate challenging situations with professionalism and integrity. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance are required, along with the flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
Joining Border Foods as a General Manager means becoming part of a family that is dedicated to making lives better through exceptional service and operations. You will be empowered to have a positive impact on the lives of employees and guests, leading your restaurant to success while advancing your own career in a rewarding and dynamic environment. Border Foods is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity, welcoming minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities into its workforce. The franchisee status of Border Foods allows independent business ownership, which means wages and benefits may vary from other Taco Bell franchise owners.
