Job Description
Border Foods originated from the vision of two brothers determined to establish a Mexican restaurant and has evolved into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. This growth story reflects the company’s commitment to excellence, community, and a people-first culture. As a family-oriented business, Border Foods places a strong emphasis on the Core Values that drive every aspect of its operations, including Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. These values are not just words but are deeply embedded in the company’s culture and everyday actions, aimed at creating a positive and productive work environment.
Working at Border Foods means joining a family where continuous learning, evolution, and growth are not only encouraged but expected. The company’s focus on making lives better is reflected in the care and quality brought to both its employees and customers. By fostering a safe, supportive, and welcoming workplace for all employees — from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers and beyond — Border Foods ensures everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. This inclusive and nurturing environment directly impacts the guest experience, with each restaurant providing consistently great food and friendly service.
The General Manager role at Border Foods is critical to upholding these high standards and values. This position requires an individual who embodies the CORE values, ensuring a well-operating restaurant that prioritizes team cohesion and customer satisfaction. As the leader of the restaurant, the General Manager is responsible for all facets of operations, from managing staff and overseeing scheduling to ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. In addition to operational duties, the General Manager acts as a coach and mentor, building a strong team dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Border Foods offers a competitive compensation package for its General Managers, with the potential to earn up to $100,000 annually through a combination of base pay and an attractive bonus program. The company also rewards its top performers with unique incentives, such as an annual trip to Mexico for those who excel in their roles. Beyond financial rewards, Border Foods supports professional and personal growth through education programs including GED and tuition reimbursement, as well as scholarship opportunities. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits are extended to all employees, including part-time workers. Other perks include free food, paid vacation and holiday time, sick leave, and innovative programs like the Vacation Donation Program, all contributing to a highly supportive and motivating workplace.
At its core, Border Foods is not just offering a job but a career path with abundant opportunities to succeed, grow, and make meaningful impacts both internally and within the communities it serves. This position is ideal for a passionate leader seeking to lead by example and enhance the lives of employees and customers alike while embracing a culture of continuous improvement, respect, and excellence.
