The role of Restaurant General Manager at Shake Shack is pivotal in upholding the brand’s reputation and operational excellence. This leadership position entails managing all facets of restaurant operations, including team leadership, inventory control, budget management, and compliance with safety and health protocols. The General Manager is responsible for driving sales, profits, and quality standards while fostering a positive team culture through coaching and development. Successful candidates are expected to have at least three years of experience as a Restaurant General Manager in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. They must possess a thorough understanding of restaurant operations, including personnel management, food planning, purchasing, sanitation, health codes, and security. Strong financial acumen, including experience managing profit and loss responsibilities, is essential. The ideal manager has excellent leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to motivate and grow their team. Certifications such as a food handler’s permit and flexibility with working hours are also desirable.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of restaurant general management experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- working knowledge of restaurant operations including personnel management, food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation and health codes, and security
- ability to learn and train others on all aspects of the Shack operations
- strong leadership skills
- knowledgeable in financial aspects of business operations
- food handler certification preferred
- willingness to work flexible hours
