Job Description
Diversified Restaurant Group (DRG) is a dynamic and rapidly expanding restaurant franchisee known for its commitment to creating a people-first culture and exceptional dining experiences. Established in 2012 with 30 Taco Bell units, the company has seen remarkable growth and now operates over 240 units across multiple brands, including Taco Bell and Arby's, in several states such as California, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, and Alaska. DRG emphasizes a small company feel despite its significant size, cultivating a family-like atmosphere where every team member is valued and empowered. With a workforce exceeding 6,000 employees, DRG continues to grow and offers abundant opportunities for professional development and career advancement. The company's core values—Respect, Integrity, Passion, Accountability, Commitment, and Teamwork—are central to its business philosophy and daily operations.
The General Manager role at DRG is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the holistic management of individual restaurant operations. This role is an excellent opportunity for dynamic and experienced leaders eager to join a fast-growing company with plentiful growth prospects. Serving as the face and driving force behind the restaurant, the General Manager is charged with building and developing a high-performing team through effective training, mentorship, and clear communication. This leadership role requires managing all facets of the restaurant, including employee recruitment, ongoing training programs, performance management, and ensuring compliance with food safety and cleanliness standards. The General Manager must also maintain profitability by managing budgets and controlling expenses, all while delivering industry-leading customer service and maintaining high food quality standards.
In addition to operational oversight, the General Manager acts as a liaison between the restaurant team and higher-level leadership, facilitating smooth communication, fostering a positive company culture, and promoting the core values in everyday practices. The role demands a strong hands-on approach, where the General Manager is expected to understand and perform every job within the restaurant, assuring a deep operational knowledge that enables problem-solving and consistent process improvements. The position typically requires an expected 50-hour workweek with open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, supporting the business's fluctuating demands.
DRG offers a competitive starting hourly wage ranging from $19.50 to $26.25, depending on experience and availability. Employees benefit from a robust package including financial assistance programs, educational benefits like GED reimbursement and language education, a daily pay option, and exclusive employee discounts. The company also supports employees with a comprehensive assistance program and initiatives such as scholarships and employee referral incentives. Joining DRG means becoming part of a forward-thinking, supportive, and values-driven company dedicated to growth, employee success, and delivering outstanding dining experiences.
