Job Description
BURGER KING is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain that has been serving millions of guests daily with high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food since 1954. As the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world, BURGER KING is famously known as the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER, a brand built on premium ingredients, signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences that have stood the test of time for over 50 years. BURGER KING prides itself on its extensive network of restaurants worldwide, creating a vibrant and fast-paced working environment dedicated to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
The role of the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at BURGER KING is a pivotal executive leadership position focused on driving profitability, enhancing the guest experience, managing people, and overseeing daily operations. The RGM is entrusted with the overall responsibility of managing a single restaurant's daily activities and directs a dynamic team that typically comprises an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20 to 45 Team Members. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM plays a crucial role in ensuring the restaurant achieves its financial objectives through effective management of profits and losses (P&L) while maintaining high standards in guest service and operational efficiency.
Specifically, the RGM is tasked with maximizing profitability by actively reviewing and managing key P&L lines and driving sales via proactive guest service, people development, and sound operational management. In terms of guest experience, the RGM motivates and leads the restaurant team to deliver accurate, friendly, and prompt service, ensuring the facility remains clean and welcoming. They address guest issues swiftly, analyze feedback to uncover root causes, and implement action plans to improve satisfaction. In addition to focusing on guests, the RGM also spearheads community engagement and local marketing initiatives to attract potential customers and build brand loyalty.
On the people management front, the RGM leads recruitment and selection processes, onboard and certifies new team members, and fosters a positive work environment through recognition programs and coaching. By providing continuous feedback and training to team members, Shift Coordinators, and Assistant Managers, the RGM strengthens the overall capabilities of the restaurant team and improves performance levels.
Operationally, the RGM handles labor management by ensuring optimal staffing and scheduling, enforces compliance with government regulations, employment laws, and Burger King corporate policies, and maintains adherence to operational and brand standards. Moreover, the RGM may also perform duties typically assigned to Assistant Managers or Shift Coordinators when necessary, showcasing leadership flexibility.
This role offers the opportunity to join a globally respected brand with a competitive pay structure that can go up to $70,000 per year along with bonus pay. Employment types are flexible with full-time and part-time options available. No formal education beyond high school is required, although two years of college and prior restaurant management experience are preferred. This on-site position requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays, including potential long or irregular shifts for smooth restaurant operations. BURGER KING values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.
