Job Description
This job opportunity is with an independent franchisee of Taco Bell, a well-known fast-food restaurant chain famous for its Mexican-inspired menu and vibrant brand. Unlike corporate positions, if you are hired for this role, you will be employed directly by the franchisee, not Taco Bell Corporation or its affiliates. Franchisees operate as independent business owners and have their own wage and benefit programs which can differ significantly among them. The restaurant is located at 1804 W University, Edinburg, TX, and is a part of the franchise property number 004623. This position offers the chance to work in the fast-paced foodservice industry where quality, customer service, cleanliness, and hospitality are top priorities, following both the CHAMPS philosophy and the Taco Bell LAST operational system.
As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the assigned Taco Bell restaurant. Your primary goal will be to uphold the restaurant's standards in line with the company’s core values of quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality, all under the guiding principles of CHAMPS and LAST. Your leadership will be critical in creating a welcoming environment for customers while fostering a positive and cooperative atmosphere among employees. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s daily operations, including staffing, training, inventory control, financial decisions, and safety compliance.
The successful candidate will manage employee relations through hiring, counseling, and performance reviews, ensuring the team is motivated and well-prepared to deliver excellent customer experiences. You will handle customer complaints diplomatically, manage workloads effectively, and enforce food safety regulations to maintain operational excellence. With a high level of interpersonal skills, you will interact regularly with both employees and customers.
This job generally requires one to two years of supervised experience to gain sufficient job knowledge, with management expected to operate independently thereafter. Working conditions may include exposure to extreme temperatures and high noise levels common to the fast-food restaurant environment. Due to the high responsibility of the role, errors in judgment could lead to dissatisfied customers, loss of revenue, or reduced team morale.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with budgeting and staffing decisions, training employees, conducting performance reviews, managing inventory according to specified procedures, operating kitchen equipment, and ensuring the dining area is both clean and inviting. Communication skills are essential as you will frequently speak to customers in a friendly and courteous manner, ensuring their orders are prepared promptly and accurately. Responsibility for reporting necessary repairs to the maintenance department also falls under your duties.
This position requires a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for company business as well as an active phone line (home or cellular). Liability insurance in your name is mandatory. The restaurant looks for candidates who can remain calm under pressure, pay close attention to detail, and who demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
