The role of Head Coach, also recognized as General Manager, is pivotal to Sweetgreen's continued commitment to delivering excellence. As the leader, strategist, and mentor of a Sweetgreen store, the Head Coach embodies a unique blend of leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for community health. This role is designed for a proactive, technologically adept leader who excels at managing people, operations, and business performance simultaneously. The Head Coach’s primary responsibility is to inspire and lead a dedicated team, fostering an inclusive culture that values transparency, trust, and diversity while driving profitability through data-driven business decisions. This position demands a hands-on approach with responsibilities including coaching talent using modern technologies, maintaining rigorous standards for food quality, safety, and cleanliness, and adapting quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Beyond leadership, the Head Coach is also integral in ensuring operational smoothness by managing financial performance, labor, inventory, and customer satisfaction. Key duties involve analyzing reports, creating effective schedules, resolving any food quality or facility-related challenges, and applying operational systems to deliver brand-aligned customer experiences. Furthermore, this role requires carrying out all duties of the Assistant Coach role and the complementary positions such as Shift Leader, Kitchen Lead, and Team Member, ensuring continuity and coherence in operational excellence.

Sweetgreen offers a competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $95,000 USD based on experience, with an additional 20% bonus potential.
