Job Description
BURGER KING is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain renowned for its high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food offerings. Established in 1954, BURGER KING has grown to become the second largest fast food hamburger chain worldwide. Known famously as the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER, BURGER KING has built its reputation on a commitment to premium ingredients, unique signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences. With over 11 million customers visiting their locations daily, BURGER KING remains a leader in the quick-service restaurant industry by maintaining high standards of food quality and guest satisfaction. The company values innovation, operational excellence, and community engagement and strives to provide an outstanding workplace environment for its employees. BURGER KING offers competitive employment opportunities, including full-time positions, within its diverse and dynamic teams across different locations.
The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) role at BURGER KING is a key leadership position focused on driving profitability, enhancing guest experiences, managing team members, and overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM holds full accountability for the restaurant’s profit and loss (P&L) and operational success. This position involves the strategic management of sales, financial outcomes, guest satisfaction, and team development to ensure the restaurant meets its business objectives. The RGM is responsible for building a motivated and effective team comprised of Assistant Managers, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and approximately 20-45 Team Members. The role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to balance multiple priorities, and a deep understanding of restaurant business drivers.
In this role, the RGM actively monitors the P&L to maximize profitability, reviews financial reports to identify improvement opportunities, and implements sales growth initiatives. Ensuring an exceptional guest experience is central, with a focus on accurate, fast, and friendly service delivered in a clean and welcoming environment. The RGM manages guest feedback and resolves issues promptly, fostering positive relationships within the community through local marketing efforts. Employee recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention fall under the RGM’s leadership, along with continual coaching and recognition practices to enhance team morale and performance. Operational responsibilities include labor scheduling, regulatory compliance, and maintaining brand standards. The RGM also steps in to perform managerial duties as necessary to support smooth restaurant operations.
This full-time position requires availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and the flexibility to work irregular shifts to meet restaurant needs. While no formal education beyond a high school diploma or GED is required, some college education is preferred, along with prior restaurant management experience. BURGER KING offers a supportive work environment where individuals can develop leadership skills and contribute to a well-known global brand.
