Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by a franchisee of Taco Bell, one of the leading global quick-service restaurant chains known for its innovative Mexican-inspired food menu. Unlike Taco Bell Corporation or its affiliates, a franchisee operates as an independent business owner, responsible for its own wage and benefit programs, which can vary significantly among different franchisees. This particular position offers the chance to work directly under such a franchise owner where the franchisee will be your sole employer. The restaurant specializes in delivering quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality to its customers, a set of standards often referred to by the acronyms CHAMPS and LAST, which are core to Taco Bell’s operational philosophy. The franchise is committed to maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction, while managing a smooth and efficient operation through well-trained, motivated employees and strict adherence to company policies.
The role is designed to ensure the orderly and efficient functioning of the restaurant by actively maintaining the standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality. You will be a key player in enforcing the Taco Bell operational systems and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the restaurant’s daily activities. As a restaurant manager or a team leader, you will guide and train staff on the importance of CHAMPS and LAST systems—standards that guarantee an excellent customer experience. Duties include ensuring timely and accurate order preparation, maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant premises, managing staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage, and overseeing inventory control to keep operations running smoothly and cost-effectively. Your role will require a balance of leadership, operational expertise, and a customer-first mindset to deliver the best experience possible in a fast-paced environment.
The position requires strong interpersonal skills as you will be directing employees and interacting with customers alike. Calmness under pressure and great attention to detail are essential as you will be handling multiple responsibilities including employee training, performance review, and counseling. This job also involves some on-the-road activity, so you must have a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and current liability insurance. Excellent communication is necessary for effectively enforcing safety rules, policies, and company procedures. You are also expected to maintain positive interactions among staff and customers to foster a cooperative and engaging environment. This role normally comes with one to two years of training to achieve a full knowledge of the operations and is performed under general supervision. Regular contact with customers and employees means that your leadership directly impacts daily satisfaction and overall success of the location.
Working conditions may include exposure to varying temperatures and high noise levels within the restaurant which is typical for food service venues. Your decisions and actions have significant consequences, including customer satisfaction levels, employee morale, and revenue outcomes. This means you must be diligent in managing operational details and swift in addressing any challenges that arise. Overall, this role provides a platform for career growth within the franchise restaurant industry and the opportunity to develop valuable management and customer service skills that are transferable across the foodservice sector.
