Job Description

The hiring establishment is a dynamic and customer-focused restaurant that places a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence. As a well-established player in the food service industry, this restaurant values profitability, team development, and superior service quality. Known for its commitment to community engagement and fostering a positive work environment, this restaurant continually seeks to innovate and enhance its service delivery to maintain a competitive edge in the market. It prides itself on creating an inclusive and supportive workplace where employees are motivated to grow and develop their skills, contributing to both individual and organizational success.

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) role is a pivotal executive leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a single restaurant location. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM leads a team including an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and a sizable group of 20 to 45 team members. This full-time leadership role demands a strong focus on driving profitability, managing the guest experience, optimizing employee performance, and ensuring smooth operational functions. The RGM is accountable for the restaurant’s profit and loss (P&L) management, actively engaging with financial metrics to elevate the store’s financial performance.

This role demands a multifaceted leader capable of motivating and directing the restaurant team to surpass guest expectations through delivering accurate, friendly, and prompt service. A high priority is placed on maintaining a clean and welcoming facility that enhances the overall guest experience. Additionally, the RGM proactively addresses guest feedback, identifying root causes of concerns, and implementing effective corrective action plans. Their leadership extends into community engagement and local marketing efforts, aiming to attract prospective guests and strengthen the restaurant’s presence within the locale.

People management stands as a foundational component of the RGM’s responsibilities. The RGM leads recruitment and selection initiatives to build a strong, reliable team. They oversee onboarding and training, guiding new hires through certification processes to ensure competence and confidence on the floor. Recognizing the importance of morale and motivation, the RGM implements team recognition programs and delivers constructive coaching and feedback to enhance individual and team performance. This contributes significantly to the retention of high-performing team members and elevates overall restaurant productivity.

Operational management is equally critical, with the RGM optimizing labor schedules to balance work demand and budget requirements. They ensure strict compliance with government regulations, employment laws, and company policies to maintain a safe and lawful working environment. Maintaining brand and operational standards is a key focus, and the RGM steps in to perform duties of Assistant Managers or Shift Coordinators as necessary, demonstrating hands-on leadership and flexibility. This comprehensive role offers the opportunity to lead a vibrant team while directly impacting both the guest experience and the financial health of the restaurant.
