The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at Burger King is a pivotal executive role focused on driving the overall success of the restaurant through profitability, guest satisfaction, team management, and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM oversees the daily operations of a single restaurant unit, leading a team typically comprising an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and around 20 to 45 Team Members. In this role, the RGM has primary accountability for the restaurant's profit and loss (P&L) and actively manages towards achieving desired financial outcomes. This involves closely reviewing and controlling key financial metrics to enhance profitability. The RGM drives sales growth by fostering proactive guest service, effective people development, and comprehensive operations management.

Guest experience is a critical focus area for the RGM. The successful candidate will motivate and direct team members to deliver friendly, fast, and accurate service in a clean and welcoming environment. Managing guest feedback through various systems, resolving issues promptly, and engaging with the local community for marketing initiatives are also essential components of the role.

People leadership is another vital responsibility. The RGM leads recruitment and selection processes to build a competent and motivated restaurant team. New employees are on-boarded with comprehensive training and certification guidance. The RGM fosters an inspiring work environment by managing recognition programs and providing ongoing coaching and feedback to team members, shift coordinators, and assistant managers to enhance capabilities and overall restaurant performance.

Operationally, the RGM is responsible for effective labor management, ensuring optimal scheduling of managers and team members. Compliance with government regulations, employment laws, and Burger King corporate policies is strictly enforced. The RGM also ensures that all operational and brand standards are maintained to provide a consistent guest experience. Flexibility is key, as the RGM may need to perform duties typically assigned to assistant managers or hourly shift coordinators when necessary.

This role requires individuals who are at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, with some college education preferred. Prior experience of one to two years in restaurant management, a strong understanding of P&L management, and demonstrated leadership abilities are essential. The candidate must understand guest service principles well and be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and longer or irregular shifts as needed for optimal restaurant functioning.
