This particular role is for a Restaurant Manager who will be responsible for profitably operating a Burger King restaurant by following the established practices and procedures set forth by Burger King Corporation and the company’s internal guidelines. The Restaurant Manager plays a critical leadership role by overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s operations including cost control, customer service, employee development, and building sales. This position requires a manager who is hands-on and actively works the front counter to ensure quality service and product availability while also effectively coaching and training employees to maintain high standards of courtesy and complaint handling.

A significant part of the role is financial oversight, which includes analyzing Profits and Loss statements, managing cash control, and monitoring utilities and supplies to minimize costs without compromising quality. The Manager must be highly organized in managing labor schedules in accordance with sales volumes, maintaining inventory, and overseeing payroll processing. They are also accountable for ensuring the restaurant meets all compliance and safety standards, achieving the highest possible health department ratings, and fostering a safe and professional workplace environment.

Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and flexibility are essential, as the manager must conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews, handle disciplinary actions, and maintain personnel files and compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The environment is fast-paced and can be physically demanding, with exposure to various working conditions, including heat, cold, and moving mechanical parts. Compensation for this role is based on an appropriate pay band, commensurate with experience, and includes an incentive bonus plan based on performance and profitability.

Job Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • Some college preferred
  • Previous restaurant experience desirable
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be Serv Safe certified
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of P and L analysis, cash controls, labor analysis, and food cost calculations
  • Ability to solve problems and exercise sound judgment
  • Willingness and ability to adjust to multiple demands and work various shifts
  • Must have open availability

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Work the front counter to ensure quality service
  • Check product quality and communicate with customers
  • Effectively train and coach employees on courtesy and complaint handling
  • Conduct meetings with team and management for planning, training, and reviewing operations
  • Develop and maintain sales levels utilizing local store marketing
  • Monitor utilities, supplies, and cost categories to minimize impact
  • Analyze profits and loss statements and take corrective action
  • Follow procedures in food preparation and serving
  • Control restaurant inventory through established systems
  • Use company approved labor guidelines and develop labor schedules
  • Manage restaurant cash control by making bank deposits daily
  • Report accidents and incidents timely and maintain safe work environment
  • Ensure compliance with health department standards and company image standards
  • Inform District Manager of hiring, promotions, and employee status changes
  • Process payroll and maintain applicant tracking
  • Conduct performance reviews and document disciplinary actions
  • Utilize preventive maintenance systems for repair of buildings and equipment
  • Attend meetings scheduled by District Manager
  • Perform required administrative paperwork
