Job Description
Diversified Restaurant Group (DRG) is a rapidly growing company in the restaurant industry, primarily operating franchises of popular brands such as Taco Bell and Arby's across multiple states including California, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, and Alaska. Starting from humble beginnings as a 30-unit Taco Bell business in 2012, DRG has expanded significantly to manage over 240 units with a team exceeding 6,000 employees. Known for its unique culture that marries the advantages of a large organization with the close-knit feel of a smaller company, DRG places a strong emphasis on core values including respect, integrity, passion, accountability, commitment, and teamwork. These values form the foundation of their daily operations and employee relationships, fueling both the company’s growth and its commitment to employee development.
The General Manager (GM) position at DRG is a dynamic leadership role ideal for individuals passionate about team development, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The position offers a starting pay range between $19.50 and $25.00 per hour, varying based on experience and availability. GMs at DRG lead by example, cultivating an environment where team members can thrive through effective training, skill development, and positive reinforcement. Responsibility stretches across key operational areas including recruiting, training, management, profit and loss oversight, food safety, cleanliness, and overall restaurant performance.
This role requires the GM to ensure top-notch customer service and high-quality food standards, while also maintaining a strong focus on financial targets and profitability. Communication is a critical aspect of the job, as the GM acts as a liaison between restaurant teams and broader leadership, fostering alignment with DRG’s culture and business objectives. The ideal candidate embraces accountability and demonstrates respect and appreciation for each team member’s contributions, promoting a supportive and high-performing store environment.
The GM is expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of every job function within the restaurant, ensuring operational flexibility and the ability to step in as needed. Working a typical 50-hour week, this role demands open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the varying needs of the business. Additionally, the position requires passing a criminal background check, possessing reliable transportation, and obtaining or maintaining food safety certification through the SERV Safe program.
DRG values employee well-being and provides a variety of benefits to support their workforce, such as the DRG Cares Grant Program for financial assistance, exclusive employee discount marketplaces, employee assistance programs, educational scholarships, and referral incentives. Additionally, programs like DailyPay offer employees flexibility by enabling daily access to earned wages. This role is ideal for an experienced restaurant leader eager to grow within a company with substantial opportunity for advancement and committed to fostering a people-first culture where every employee is considered family.
