Job Description

KFC, a globally recognized brand, is more than just a fast-food restaurant chain; it is a place where careers are built, communities are strengthened, and future leaders are cultivated. Operating in over 150 countries, KFC is renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and a customer-first approach. As a part of the Yum! Brands family, KFC focuses on delivering a unique dining experience rooted in its iconic recipes and friendly service. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive and dynamic workplace culture where employees at all levels are valued and empowered to achieve their best. With a strong emphasis on leadership development, KFC continuously invests in its people to create a positive impact both inside and outside the restaurant environment.

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) role at KFC is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the overall success of the restaurant. This role transcends the typical management function by requiring a strategic mindset and a genuine passion for people development. As an RGM, you will lead a team while managing all operational aspects, driving financial performance, and ensuring that the KFC brand’s standards of excellence are consistently met. This position demands a hands-on approach, where you engage directly with guests and staff, fostering a culture of positivity, accountability, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

The RGM is entrusted with recruiting, onboarding, and developing a world-class team, ranging from entry-level Team Members to Shift Supervisors. You will design tailored development plans and coach employees to help them advance their careers within the company. Your leadership will set the tone for an exceptional customer experience, with an emphasis on visibility during critical service times and proactive resolution of any service challenges.

In terms of operations, you will oversee every aspect of daily restaurant activities including staffing, scheduling, training, cleanliness, safety, and food quality. Maintaining compliance with brand standards and efficiently executing new product rollouts are also key responsibilities. From a business leadership standpoint, your role involves analyzing financial performance metrics such as profit and loss statements and developing actionable plans to maximize sales and control costs. Managing budgets, optimizing labor efficiency, maintaining inventory control, and ensuring regulatory compliance fall under your purview.

One of the critical elements of the RGM role is competitive positioning. You will continuously monitor the local market landscape and position your restaurant to outperform competitors by excelling in customer service, digital engagement, and guest loyalty programs. This role requires a high level of adaptability and experience in change management to effectively lead teams through transitions.

KFC offers a comprehensive benefits package that underscores its commitment to employee well-being and professional growth. With competitive base pay plus bonus eligibility, paid time off, free meals during shifts, and extensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, KFC supports a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, the company provides professional development and leadership training opportunities, tuition reimbursement, scholarship programs, and exclusive perks including discounts on cars, phones, gym memberships, and insurance. KFC Foundation Programs further enhance employee support with offerings like free college tuition through Western Governors University, a dollar-for-dollar savings match, and hardship assistance for emergencies.

Joining KFC as a Restaurant General Manager means starting a leadership legacy with a global brand that values bold leadership, purposeful growth, and creating impactful experiences for customers and employees alike. This role is ideal for individuals eager to leverage their management experience, foster a community-focused culture, and grow a rewarding career in the food service industry.
