The Restaurant General Manager position at Fulenwider is a pivotal role, responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure high standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality are met consistently. This leadership position requires managing all facets of the restaurant including product preparation, guest relations, maintenance, inventory management, financial controls, and team development. The manager acts as the face of the restaurant during peak hours, engaging with guests to maintain satisfaction and uphold the brand's reputation. Accountability extends to recruiting and retaining skilled team members, specifically hourly staff and managers, overseeing training programs, motivating the workforce, and promoting a safe and positive workplace.

Job Requirements

  • Follow procedures regarding operation of restaurant equipment (fryers, ovens, etc.)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and carry loads up to 30 feet in distance
  • Ability to push/pull up to 90 lbs and carry up to 30 feet in distance
  • Knowledge of and compliance with the company’s human resources policies and processes
  • Adhere to the company and city/state/United States safety requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Basic business math and accounting skills, and strong analytical/decision-making skills
  • Basic personal computer literacy
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • College or university degree preferred
  • 1-4 years supervisory experience in either a food or retail environment, including profit and loss responsibility

Job Duties

  • Create value for shareholders through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
  • Maintain highest level of quality, service, cleanliness and hospitality by personally spending time interacting with guests during peak hours and ensuring all menu items are always available
  • Take an active role in guest service and guest relations, monitor and correct employee appearance, courtesy and suggestive selling techniques and take part in company marketing efforts
  • Control day-to-day operations by tracking restaurant labor and product costs to meet targets
  • order food, paper and supplies, maintain proper inventory levels and control waste, plan weekly schedule for restaurant employees
  • follow published procedures for receiving, preparing, holding, packing and serving products
  • Maintain high level of productivity through effective recruiting, training, and motivation of hourly employees
  • Operate routine preventative maintenance program including checks, adjustments and minor repairs of restaurant equipment, building and grounds
  • Prepare and submit required reports, use approved projection techniques, cash control techniques and security measures
  • Recruit, interview, recommend hiring, disciplinary action, and termination of hourly restaurant employees and maintain required personnel and performance information
  • Develop, motivate, and effectively train staff
