The role of the Restaurant Event Sales Manager is a full-time position based at the Foxborough location. This role is crucial in driving social and business event sales within the restaurant, hotel, and special event sectors. The Event Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting potential clients, responding to incoming leads, and consulting extensively with guests to ascertain their event objectives and requirements. Key responsibilities include coordinating all group event details such as food and beverage programs, menu selections, and event setup to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction. A strategic aspect of the role involves maximizing revenue by effectively assigning event spaces and actively identifying and soliciting new business opportunities to meet company goals.
The Manager will prepare formal proposals and banquet event orders, manage event billing, and participate in management meetings to review event plans and strategies. A proactive approach is essential, including developing quarterly sales plans, entering all prospect and booking information into software systems such as Tripleseat or Seven Rooms, and representing the brand at networking events. Collaboration with the General Manager to plan and execute marketing activities is also a critical part of this role. Additionally, the Manager will efficiently schedule and attend all guest site tours, serving as a knowledgeable and professional brand ambassador.
This position requires a candidate with at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with a college degree in hospitality or related experience being advantageous. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience in catering sales or banquet management within restaurants, hotels, or special event venues. A strong understanding of food and beverage practices, sanitation and health regulations, liquor laws, and wine trends is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Toast, and relevant event management software is preferred. Candidates must be 21 years of age or older. Job Duties
- Prospecting groups of all sizes to produce social and business, private dining sales
- Respond to incoming leads with proactive solicitations
- Consult with guests to determine the objectives and requirements for events
- Handle all group details, including the food and beverage program, menu selections and set up
- Assign group function space effectively to maximize revenue
- Identify, qualify and solicit new business to achieve company goals
- Prepare and send out formal written proposals and banquet event orders
- Manage the billing process for events
- Participate in management meetings and review banquet event orders
- Grow sales through active prospecting of targeted businesses and event planning
- Enter all prospects, contacts, accounts and booking information in software systems
- Develop quarterly sales plans and solicit new guest relationships
- Attend and take part in all company-related trainings
- Strategize with the general manager to source, plan, and execute marketing activities
- Attend networking events as a brand ambassador
- Efficiently schedule and be present for all guest site tours
