The Sales Coordinator role at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis is an exciting full-time, commission-based position that offers full benefits, free parking, and complimentary employee meals. This non-management position in the Sales & Marketing category focuses on supporting the hotel’s sales efforts specifically related to event sales and food and beverage opportunities. The coordinator will be responsible for preparing sales-related documents such as proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders and promoting the hotel’s brand internally and externally. The role requires the individual to gather materials and assemble informational packages to support sales initiatives. A key part of the position is utilizing effective sales techniques to maximize revenue while maintaining existing guest loyalty to Marriott.
Additionally, the Sales Coordinator will assist management with the development and execution of marketing programs and social media initiatives aimed at increasing revenue across various outlets and services, including room service and beverage promotions. Administrative responsibilities include entering, retrieving, reconciling, and verifying sales-related data such as commissions and leads within the company’s sales software systems. Serving as a primary point of contact for clients, the incumbent is expected to communicate professionally via phone and email, responding promptly to inquiries and requests. Coordination of restaurant reservations for special and holiday events, particularly for parties of six or more, is another essential duty. The role also manages food and beverage sales within hospitality suites supported by the Room Service Department and performs general office duties like filing, emailing, typing, faxing, and copying to support the sales and room service teams.
The position requires a professional demeanor consistent with the hotel’s standards, upholding confidentiality, protecting company assets, and adhering to all policy and safety protocols. The Sales Coordinator is expected to foster positive relationships within the team to help achieve collective goals and participate actively in maintaining quality assurance standards. Physical demands are moderate, involving some standing, sitting, walking, and handling of light objects. No supervisory experience is required, but previous event sales experience is preferred to succeed in this role. Working at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis not only means being part of a brand synonymous with luxury and excellence but also offers a rewarding career within Marriott International’s inclusive, diverse, and supportive environment where associates are encouraged to bring their best selves to work every day.
