Job Description
Café Zupas is a vibrant and growing restaurant brand that specializes in serving house-made and globally-inspired soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts from their next-generation kitchens. Established in 2004, Café Zupas has expanded rapidly and now operates over 85 kitchens across 8 states, with plans for continued growth and expansion. The company prides itself on using real, whole food ingredients prepared fresh daily on-site, emphasizing quality, transparency, and health. Unlike traditional fast-food concepts, Café Zupas eliminates grills, grease, and fryers to maintain a modern, clean, and energetic environment for both its guests and team members. At its core, Café Zupas is driven by a philosophy that prioritizes people—both the customers and employees—and nurtures a culture of positivity, gratitude, and teamwork.
Working at Café Zupas means becoming part of a supportive, forward-thinking company that values personal growth and career development. Employees benefit from clear expectations, ongoing training programs, and the encouragement of upward mobility through an outlined career path. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), paid time off (PTO), free meals, and scheduled time off, such as being closed on Sundays and holiday closures. Furthermore, Café Zupas rewards high-performing employees with incentives like international trips and competitive pay, creating an environment where individuals feel valued, motivated, and energized to bring their best every day.
The role of District Manager at Café Zupas is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing multiple restaurant locations within an assigned territory. This position requires spending significant time—typically 2 to 3 days—on-site at individual restaurants to provide hands-on coaching, direction, and feedback to restaurant leadership teams. The District Manager supports these leaders in achieving goals related to sales, labor management, and food cost control, while also fostering an upbeat and supportive culture throughout the district. Developing future leaders is a key priority, as District Managers work closely with Talent Mentors to ensure proper staffing levels and identify and mentor high-potential team members across their locations.
Ideal candidates for this role will have 2-5 years of multi-unit leadership experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry, demonstrating a strong ability to lead and develop teams. They are enthusiastic, positive, and adaptable individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and embrace innovative processes and systems. The District Manager role offers a five-day set schedule, promoting work-life balance and allowing individuals to be effective leaders without burnout. By joining Café Zupas as a District Manager, candidates join a collaborative group that challenges norms and actively contributes to the brand's success and growth trajectory. Café Zupas is committed to equal opportunity employment, performing background and reference checks upon making an offer, reflecting its dedication to maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace.
