Job Description

Wonder is a dynamic mealtime platform dedicated to making world-class food accessible to everyone by offering a unique dining experience that combines multiple cuisines from over 20 exclusive restaurants into a single, convenient order. Located in North Bethesda, Wonder services its customers by reinventing how people order, enjoy, and experience food either through dine-in, pick-up, or delivery options with zero delivery fees. At the core of the Wonder brand is a commitment to quality, variety, and consistency, achieved by owning and operating every step of the dining process from recipe development to technology management. The company prides itself on creating an inviting, fast-paced, and supportive work environment where every team member is valued and given meaningful opportunities to grow and advance their careers.

The role of a Team Member at Wonder is essential in bringing menus created by Michelin-starred and celebrity chefs to life and ensures an excellent guest experience during every interaction. This full-time or part-time position offers a base pay rate starting at $17.50 per hour, with additional premiums for overnight shifts between midnight and 5:00 AM. Employees can further increase their earnings through roles such as Certified Team Member or Trainer, receiving extra hourly compensation. Team Members enjoy numerous benefits including free meals during shifts, employee discounts, 1.5 times pay on company holidays, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 100% employer-paid life insurance, participation in a 401(k) retirement plan, employer contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA), employee stock options, and clear paths for advancement into supervisory roles.

The Team Member role is diverse and dynamic. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities to master multiple roles encompassing food preparation, hospitality, sanitation, teamwork, and local marketing efforts. Responsibilities include preparing menu items with precision and adhering strictly to food safety protocols such as HACCP guidelines and proper temperature controls. Team Members manage inventory, ensure order accuracy, and maintain a spotless work environment. Exceptional customer service skills are required to greet guests warmly, assist with orders and payments, support the use of the Wonder app, and provide knowledgeable support about the company’s offerings. Maintaining cleanliness and managing kitchen equipment and waste responsibly are crucial to sustainability and operational excellence.

The ideal candidates will have at least six months of experience in a fast-paced kitchen or customer-facing environment, demonstrate the ability to work quickly and accurately, possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and communicate clearly. They should be team-oriented with a foundational understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for the duration of their shifts, and have availability on weekends.

Wonder values objective hiring practices focused on potential and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, explicitly prohibiting discrimination based on various protected classes. The company employs an Automated Employment Decision Tool to fairly assess candidates based on relevant skills and job fit. Joining Wonder means becoming part of a stable, fast-growing company that continuously opens new opportunities for motivated employees toward career growth and personal development. This role is perfect for those seeking to build skills, grow professionally, and contribute to a brand revolutionizing the mealtime experience with exceptional food and hospitality.
