Job Description
Wonder is a pioneering mealtime platform dedicated to making world-class food accessible to everyone. Based in Newington, Wonder offers an innovative approach to dining where customers can mix and match hundreds of dishes from over 20 exclusive restaurants in a single order, ensuring everyone gets exactly what they crave. From tacos to Thai food, Wonder delivers an unmatched variety of cuisines with zero delivery fees, as well as dine-in and pick-up options at conveniently located Wonder venues. Each dish is crafted to order by a skilled culinary team and served hot, emphasizing quality, freshness, and customer satisfaction. Behind the scenes, Wonder operates every aspect of the dining experience, from recipe development to the technology that powers their unique ordering system. This full control allows them to maintain consistency, variety, and high standards, scaling excellence across all customer interactions.
The role of Team Member at Wonder is vital to delivering the exceptional food and service that customers have come to expect. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with a competitive pay rate starting at $17.50 per hour and an additional $2.00 hourly premium for overnight shifts between midnight and 5:00 AM. Team Members have the chance to increase their earnings by becoming Certified Team Members or Trainers, which come with additional hourly bonuses. Working at Wonder means being part of an energetic, fast-growing company where new opportunities emerge regularly. Employees enjoy a supportive team environment, career growth potential, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, employer health savings account matches, employee stock options, free meals during shifts, and employee discounts.
As a Team Member, your daily responsibilities will be varied and dynamic. You will master multiple roles that encompass food preparation, hospitality, sanitation, and teamwork. Preparing menu items according to Wonder’s exacting standards, you will ensure cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhere strictly to food safety guidelines such as HACCP, and manage accurate order fulfillment down to inventory scans and portion control. Hospitality duties include greeting guests warmly, assisting with orders and app payments, and supporting meal-kit and delivery operations. Team Members play a role in local marketing initiatives too, such as distributing flyers and engaging with the public.
Maintaining an immaculate environment is crucial. This includes sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, cleaning and restocking utensils and equipment throughout shifts, handling waste responsibly, and reporting any equipment malfunctions promptly. Collaboration and positivity are core to the role, as you support teammates and contribute to a high-energy, welcoming workplace. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary, reinforcing your role as a key team player within Wonder’s innovative food service operation.
Wonder looks for candidates with six months or more experience in fast-paced kitchens or customer-facing roles, who work with speed, accuracy, and careful attention to detail. Effective organization, clear communication, and ability to follow instructions are essential. A foundational knowledge of food safety and sanitation complements the team-oriented mindset vital for success here. Candidates must meet basic requirements including being at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the U.S., able to lift 50 pounds, stand for entire shifts, and have weekend availability.
Joining Wonder means becoming part of a workplace committed to fairness, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The hiring process is objective and focused on potential, skills, and fit. Wonder does not discriminate on any protected basis and provides accommodations for candidates with disabilities to ensure an accessible interview experience. If you are eager to grow your career in a fun, fast-paced environment serving world-class food, Wonder offers an exciting and rewarding opportunity.
