Job Requirements

  • Lift up to 20 lbs with one hand
  • Stand for up to 5 hours without sitting
  • Reach at least 36 inches horizontally or vertically
  • Handle small and medium-size woks for up to 4 hours continuously
  • Perform high-speed repetitive cutting and slicing safely using a Chinese cook's knife
  • Maintain good personal hygiene
  • Follow instructions and procedures accurately without constant supervision
  • Work effectively under pressure during peak periods
  • Attend to food quality, preparation, and presentation details

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a commercial kitchen setting
  • Knowledge of Asian cooking techniques and recipes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow strict hygiene and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare stir-fry dishes according to company recipes and health regulations
  • Cook ingredients as assembled by the Apportioner
  • Adjust seasoning, cooking times, and procedures to meet company standards
  • Mix sauces and marinades and maintain adequate supplies
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely including ranges, grills, ovens, and deep fryers
  • Assist management in developing and refining menu specials
  • Support training of hourly staff and ensure smooth back-of-house operations
