We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join our team. The role of a Macayo Cook is vital to our commitment to quality and tradition. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, possesses a keen eye for detail, and is passionate about delivering consistent, high-quality food. Working as a cook at Macayo's means preparing and plating a variety of menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, all reflecting our unique Mexican recipes and cooking techniques.
The successful candidate will be responsible for following recipes closely to ensure all dishes maintain the authentic taste our guests expect. Attention to food safety and sanitation is critical in this role, as is maintaining a clean and organized workstation and kitchen environment. Equally important is the ability to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff and communicate effectively with management regarding any product or ingredient issues. This is a full-time or part-time position offering competitive pay between $15.15 and $19.00 per hour, along with benefits such as an employee discount and a flexible work schedule. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior cooking experience is preferred
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience preferred
- Familiarity with Mexican cuisine and cooking techniques is a plus

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts
- Ensure that all food is of high quality and meets our standards
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and kitchen
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and report any issues to management
- Communicate to Management Team any issues with products and/or ingredients received by vendors
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure that all orders are prepared and served in a timely manner
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Filter fryers on a daily basis, as instructed by Management Team
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Maintain personal health and sanitation standards
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
