Job Description

Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel is a prominent entertainment and hospitality venue known for offering a wide range of gaming, dining, and lodging experiences in a vibrant and customer-focused environment. Located in Niagara Falls, New York, the property is part of the Seneca Gaming Corporation, a trusted name in the gaming industry. The casino and hotel feature numerous amenities including several restaurants and food and beverage (F&B) outlets, making it a popular destination for both tourists and locals. The establishment prides itself on providing exceptional service, maintaining stringent internal controls, and upholding its reputation for an enjoyable and safe guest experience. As an employer, the casino focuses on fostering a professional and collaborative work atmosphere that helps employees grow and succeed in their roles. The employment opportunity is full-time, with a starting salary rate of $16.00 per hour, and compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.

The Restaurant Cashier role at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel is a critical position responsible for managing non-gaming financial transactions within the resort's F&B outlets located off the gaming floor. This position requires a keen attention to detail when handling the initiation and settlement of patron checks through the resort’s Point of Sale (POS) system. Additionally, the cashier assists with other restaurant functions, including host and busser duties, ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience for all guests. Cashiers are expected to follow the guidelines established by Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies, procedures, and Internal Control Standards. This role also emphasizes excellent guest relations, requiring cashiers to be knowledgeable about the casino’s facilities, hours of operation, and services to effectively address guest inquiries.

Cashiers are responsible for maintaining the accountability of cash, checks, and related paperwork, managing start-up and balancing cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts respectively. A deep understanding of different tender methods, including comps, gift cards, ambassador, executive, and room charges, is essential. The role demands tactful interaction and resolution of customer concerns to ensure guest satisfaction and recovery where needed. Other tasks include assisting with the physical setup of dining areas by seating guests, wiping silverware and menus, and setting tables under the direction of the room manager. Since the casino operates 24/7, cashiers must be flexible regarding work hours.

Beyond operational duties, the Restaurant Cashier is expected to uphold the highest standards of information security according to the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s Acceptable Use Policy. Effective communication skills, a pleasant, friendly demeanor, and professionalism are essential traits for members of this team. Attention to attendance and punctuality and completion of all required training within the first nine months of employment are mandatory. Overall, this role is suited for candidates who enjoy fast-paced environments, working with diverse teams, and delivering outstanding customer service in a dynamic hospitality setting.
