The role of Restaurant Busser at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel is vital to maintaining the high standards of service expected by its guests. This position focuses on delivering fast, friendly, and courteous service to every visitor in the restaurant. Bussers assist in creating an inviting dining atmosphere by promptly attending to guests’ needs, ensuring tables are clean and properly set, and supporting waitstaff and management in various operational tasks. This is a physical role requiring stamina, the ability to carry trays weighing up to 60 pounds, and the capability to interact positively with guests and team members.

The Restaurant Busser must be attentive to detail and knowledgeable about the casino and hotel’s offerings to efficiently assist guests with inquiries. This involves understanding the venue's layout, services, and daily specials, enabling the busser to enhance the customer experience. The position demands flexibility as it involves working various shifts within a 24-hour schedule, participation in training programs, and adherence to company policies, including information security and internal controls.

Ideal candidates will be at least 18 years old, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate the physical ability to meet the job's demands. Previous customer service experience is preferred but not mandatory. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively and interact well with the customers and employees
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Must be able to stand, walk and move through all areas of the casino
  • Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, use fingers/hands for lifting and grasping
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions
  • Must be able to talk to and hear customers/co-workers
  • Must be able to assist with special needs of customers
  • Must maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must maintain visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
  • Must comply with all company policies and training requirements

Job Duties

  • Report to work on time, well-groomed in full uniform, and with badge on upper left side of uniform
  • Must be able to balance and carry trays to tables which may weigh up to sixty (60) pounds
  • Greet all guests with water and bread promptly, friendly, and with a courteous disposition
  • Hospitable, friendly, and polite with all guests, co-workers, and management using positive body language
  • Have a strong understanding of the philosophy and goals associated with Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel and are supportive of them at all times
  • Perform any duties assigned by the manager or shift manager
  • Assist all other employees in performing their duties whenever required
  • Be familiar with all check and cashiering procedures
  • Work in a designated area and be attentive to guests at all times and exceed guest’s expectations
  • Maintain full knowledge of menu, wine lists, and daily specials
  • Properly clear and reset tables according to bus person manual
  • Complete designated opening and closing side work daily and check with manager or shift manager before clocking out
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies
  • Attend all necessary meetings
