The Busser position at 21c Museum Hotels serves as a fundamental role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and service within the restaurant setting. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager and Food & Beverage Director, the Busser is responsible for clearing used plates, glasses, and other dining ware promptly and efficiently. This role is essential for ensuring that tables are reset quickly to accommodate new guests, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The hourly wage for this position starts at $8.00 per hour, with expectations of professionalism, reliability, and teamwork.
Busser duties extend beyond simple clearing tasks—this role requires attention to the overall cleanliness of the restaurant environment, ensuring that all silverware is polished and restocked appropriately, tables are wiped spotless, and floors remain crumb-free. Bussers assist servers and kitchen staff as needed, contributing to the overall teamwork and flow within the dining area. Job Duties
- Clears all dirty glasses, waste paper, napkins, plates, silverware, and bowls from the customer during the meal
- keeps all silverware stocked in each station
- retrieves clean glasses and plates from the dishwashing area and stores and restocks in the appropriate places
- wipes all tables (when appropriate) and seats after clearing the table and checks the floor for crumbs
- assists the servers/runners in any task that they ask
- cleans and resets all tables after the guest leaves one at a time
- understands role within the steps of service
- polishes silverware
- completes all side work as outlined in the manual
- reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts
- maintains a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests
- maintains a clean, orderly appearance in the restaurant service area
- assists with/executes any tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- follows all proper sanitation guidelines
