Job Description

Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn, began its journey in the restaurant industry with the acquisition of eight Applebee's locations in 1999. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to excellence, Flynn Group has since evolved into the largest Applebee's franchisee worldwide and one of the largest franchise operators across multiple iconic brands. Over the past two decades, the company has expanded by building new stores and acquiring additional franchise operators, demonstrating robust growth and adaptability in the competitive food service landscape. Today, Flynn operates over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states, showcasing its vast reach and influence within the casual dining segment.

Flynn Group is not only synonymous with Applebee's but also operates a diverse portfolio of premier brands including Arby’s, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and Planet Fitness. This diversity allows Flynn to maintain a dynamic position in the market by catering to a wide array of customer tastes and preferences across distinct segments of the restaurant and fitness industries. Their mission centers on becoming the premier operator in each of these brands by adhering strongly to core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One. These values form the cultural backbone of the organization and guide every aspect of its operations and employee engagement.

As an Applebee’s Assistant Manager within Flynn Group, you play a pivotal role in upholding these standards and ensuring every guest experiences exceptional service and quality. The Assistant Manager is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and serves as a key leader for both guests and staff. This role demands a balance of leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively handle stressful situations with composure and positivity. You are expected to lead by example, fostering a team environment that thrives on collaboration and mutual respect, while driving operational excellence.

Your responsibilities include enforcing company guidelines to guarantee timely and friendly service, handling guest complaints swiftly and adequately, and maintaining high standards in food preparation and presentation. You will also be responsible for employee scheduling, inventory management, safety and security compliance, recruitment, training, employee development, and cost control measures. The position requires active participation in promoting cleanliness, sanitation, and overall restaurant organization. Moreover, you will engage in continuous professional growth via the Management Development Program and be versatile enough to work in various restaurant roles as needed.

This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation ranging from $17.48 to $25 per hour, translating to approximately $50,000 to $71,500 annually based on a 50-hour workweek. Eligible employees can also earn monthly bonuses depending on location, participate in profit-sharing, and access an extensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, disability coverages, life insurance, critical illness and legal plans, a 401k plan with company match, paid vacation, and sick leave. Flynn Group also supports employee wellness and professional development, offering paid time off increments based on tenure and a commitment to an inclusive and accommodating workplace environment. If passionate about leadership, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences, this Assistant Manager role at Flynn’s Applebee’s is an outstanding opportunity to grow with one of the industry’s most prominent franchise operators.
