At the heart of this legendary hotel is Peacock Alley, a signature restaurant named after the original Waldorf Astoria’s historic passageway. Recently revived, Peacock Alley embodies the spirit of New York through its bespoke menus that range from breakfast to dinner, skillfully paired with a beverage program that pays homage to the world’s greatest cocktail bars. As the Restaurant Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of this prestigious outlet. Reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager, you will supervise a team comprising three Assistant Restaurant Managers and 30 front-of-house team members. Your leadership will ensure the seamless delivery of exceptional service, financial success, and a remarkable guest experience.
This full-time position requires availability across various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. The annual salary range for the role is $90,000 to $110,000, dependent on the candidate’s experience and location. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional leader with at least two years of restaurant management experience in upscale dining environments. Experience with luxury cocktail bars and unionized workplaces is highly preferred. The role demands a strong aptitude for training and developing staff, managing financial performance, enhancing social media reputation, capturing local market opportunities, and maintaining excellent employee relations.

Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of restaurant management experience
- Experience in upscale dining or luxury cocktail environments preferred
- Experience managing unionized teams preferred
- Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Job Qualifications
- Prior restaurant management experience in a cocktail-focused environment
- Experience at a Michelin Star restaurant
- Significant experience managing a unionized or organized workforce
- Minimum of 2 years of substantial restaurant management experience
- Prior management experience in a Forbes 5-Star hotel or equivalent preferred
- Commitment to delivering high levels of customer service
- High level of IT proficiency
Job Duties
- Manage all outlet operations including guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, profitability, marketing, budgeting, and policy implementation
- Monitor and develop team member performance through supervision, professional development, counseling, evaluations, and recognition
- Assess product, service, and satisfaction trends to identify issues and implement improvements
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards
- Initiate and implement marketing and up-selling techniques to maximize revenue
- Ensure team members have up-to-date knowledge of outlet offerings, products, events, pricing, and local area events
- Recruit, interview, and train new team members
