The role of the Restaurant Assistant General Manager is a pivotal leadership position responsible for ensuring flawless execution of all operational aspects during each shift. This full-time position requires a dedicated individual who will work closely with the General Manager to achieve financial targets, uphold high standards of food quality, service, safety, and sanitation, and lead a motivated team to success. The Assistant GM provides coaching, training, and development opportunities for team members, while ensuring that all company policies and procedures are consistently followed.

This leadership role also entails direct involvement in scheduling, staffing, interviewing, and final selection, ensuring that the restaurant is optimally staffed to deliver exceptional service and maintain operational efficiency. The Assistant GM is accountable for maintaining cleanliness and safety within the restaurant and guaranteeing that all equipment is used following established guidelines. Proactive planning and effective communication with guests, team members, management, and vendors are critical to sustaining a welcoming and productive environment.

Additionally, this role involves partnership with the GM on financial and strategic planning, including executing new company initiatives, managing inventory and cost controls, and leveraging the catering team to increase community sales. The position requires an individual with exceptional multitasking skills, the ability to work under pressure, and strong judgment to handle the dynamic nature of restaurant operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Some college preferred
  • Minimum of three years of full-service restaurant management experience
  • Exceptional leadership and motivational skills required
  • Ability to attract, train, develop and retain the very best team members in the industry
  • Strong guest service focus
  • Ability to define, measure and attain financial goals including sales growth, guest count, staffing, service, cost and labor management
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, lift, reach, turn, climb ladders and step stools
  • Ability to handle food items and dishes with dexterity
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under stress

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)

  • Minimum of three years of high volume full-service restaurant management experience

Job Duties

  • Ensures flawless execution of every detail, every shift, by every team member, to ensure we exceed guest expectations at all times
  • Provides direction, coaching, training and development for team members including food quality, service standards, safety and sanitation, and company policies and procedures
  • Ensures all food, beverage and service standards, policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Partners with the GM to ensure financial performance of the restaurant
  • Ensures consistent execution of all systems, standards, inventory and cost controls
  • Partners with the GM to create and implement plans that result in improved financial performance in all areas of the operation
  • Partners with GM to plan, execute and follow up on new company initiatives
