Job Description

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery is a well-established dining chain known for its homestyle menu offerings and exceptional guest service. Founded in 1958, Perkins operates approximately 290 restaurants across 32 states in the U.S. and two Canadian provinces, with a mix of company-owned and franchised locations. The company prides itself on maintaining a strong commitment to employee growth and customer satisfaction, values that have contributed to its longevity and respected reputation within the casual dining industry. Perkins continuously evolves its menu to meet changing consumer tastes while preserving its classic favorites, ensuring an inviting experience characterized by fresh, flavorful dishes and exceptional service.

This particular opportunity is at a franchise location independently owned and operated by a franchisee, providing a unique working environment that benefits from Perkins' established corporate standards but also offers a community-focused workplace atmosphere. As a member of the kitchen team, you will play an important role in preparing menu items according to Perkins' high-quality standards while ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation procedures. The role requires a keen attention to detail in cooking, portioning, and food handling to help maintain consistent food costs and uphold the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen and storage areas.

The position offers an hourly wage range of $11.00 to $17.00 per hour, reflecting the responsibilities and skills required. This employment opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking entry-level experience in the food service industry, as Perkins provides training in basic skills including safety, sanitation, and customer service. Employees are expected to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, adapting to the needs of a busy dining environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing cooking items, ensuring product rotation and inventory freshness using first in, first out (FIFO) standards, and assisting team members throughout your shift. Communication with management and colleagues is essential to address any operational or safety concerns effectively. Perkins emphasizes a "clean as you go" culture to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk extensively during shifts, lift and carry food trays and supplies up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and good vision.

Joining Perkins means becoming part of an extended family that respects individual talents and fosters teamwork to achieve success. Employees have opportunities for career growth and development, supported by a culture that values creativity, diversity, and service excellence. If you're looking for a rewarding position with a reputable company that values your contributions and offers a positive work atmosphere, Perkins Restaurant & Bakery could be the perfect place to start or advance your hospitality career.
