Job Description
HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and contributing actively to the community it serves. The hospital is a four-story, 150,000-square-foot facility featuring 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU, designed to provide a comprehensive range of acute care services. Job Requirements
- Associate degree in respiratory therapy or related field
- Current NBRC and state licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Ability to obtain BCLS within 30 days of employment
- Ability to obtain ACLS within 90 days of employment
- Ability to obtain PALS within 90 days of employment
- Ability to obtain NRP within 90 days of employment
- Willingness to work full-time night shift
- Commitment to patient-centered care and adherence to hospital policies
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree in respiratory
- NBRC and State licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- NRP - Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Job Duties
- Perform and document patient assessment including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy
- Administer respiratory care therapies including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy
- Assist with placement of artificial airways
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of unintended response
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation
