Job Duties
- Welcomes and completes established check-in/check-out procedures for arriving guests to ensure satisfaction and correct room assignment
- Answers inquiries and accepts reservations in person and by telephone, using suggestive selling techniques to increase room revenue and occupancy
- Communicates effectively both orally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff
- Maintains good customer relations by staying informed of all in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns timely
- Controls cash transactions at the Front Desk and maintains responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel policy
- Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
- Responds to all guests' requests, problems, complaints and accidents in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner, following up to ensure guest satisfaction
- Develops employee morale and ensures training of Front Office personnel
- Maximizes room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily and monitoring credit reports
- Participates in required MOD program as scheduled, including nights and weekends
- Maintains professional working relationships and promotes open communication with managers, employees, and other departments
- Operates Front Office computer systems including software maintenance and report generation
- Ensures timely and professional delivery of all messages, packages, and mail
- Operates radios efficiently and professionally, enforcing radio etiquette
- Ensures that employees remain attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous at all times
- Focuses the Guest Services Department on their role in improving guest satisfaction scores
- Monitors all VIPs, special guests and requests, following SOPs
- Reviews Front Office and Service Recovery logs daily
- Remains familiar with corporate sales programs, promotions, and VIP arrivals
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
