The Resort Experience Director role at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is a pivotal leadership position responsible for designing, executing, and continuously improving the guest experience at one of Central Florida's premier resort destinations. This role is focused on overseeing activities, entertainment, and experiential programming that make a visitor's stay memorable and enjoyable while embodying Westgate Resorts' elevated hospitality standards. The director will play a highly visible role as a leader and brand ambassador, working seamlessly with multiple departments such as resort operations, food and beverage, marketing, and guest services to deliver cohesive and engaging on-property experiences. As the senior leader of the Resort Experience Department, the Resort Experience Director is responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance management across various teams and venues within the resort. By analyzing guest feedback and operational data, the director continually refines programming to enhance guest satisfaction scores and encourage positive online reviews. This role requires a strong executive presence, creative vision, and excellent leadership skills to motivate diverse teams while balancing operational efficiency with engaging guest experiences. The Resort Experience Director often acts as the Face of the Resort and the Master of Ceremonies for signature events, crafting a lively and luxury cruise-like atmosphere on land that leaves a lasting impression on guests. Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in hospitality entertainment resort or cruise operations
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
  • Proven success in strategic planning budgeting and achieving guest satisfaction outcomes
  • Fluency in English read write and speak
  • Valid driver’s license required to operate company golf carts

Job Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in hospitality entertainment resort or cruise operations
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
  • Proven success in strategic planning budgeting and achieving guest satisfaction outcomes
  • Resort or cruise industry experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred
  • Fluency in English read write and speak
  • Exceptional leadership communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and manage large diverse teams
  • Strong organizational analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license required to operate company golf carts

Job Duties

  • Lead the Resort Experience Department including oversight of department managers and team leaders
  • Develop and refine comprehensive programs of resort activities entertainment events and excursions
  • Create and sustain a high-energy atmosphere delivering a luxury cruise-style guest experience on land
  • Serve as a Westgate brand ambassador modeling service excellence in all guest and team interactions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with resort operations food and beverage marketing and guest services teams
  • Manage departmental budgets labor planning scheduling and staffing for operational efficiency and service quality
  • Analyze guest satisfaction surveys reviews and feedback trends to drive improvements
  • Recruit train coach and develop leaders and team members fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and retention
  • Act as the Face of the Resort and Master of Ceremonies for signature resort events and experiences
  • Establish and enforce departmental policies procedures and safety standards
  • Oversee multiple teams and department leaders focusing on goals and strategic planning
  • Perform other duties as assigned
