Job Description
Pyramid Global Hospitality is a leading hospitality company dedicated to putting people first. Known for its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment, Pyramid Global Hospitality values diversity, growth, development, and overall employee wellbeing. With more than 230 properties worldwide, the company has built a reputation for creating meaningful relationships and providing exceptional guest experiences. At Pyramid Global Hospitality, employees are not just team members but are part of a family that invests in ongoing training and development opportunities. This investment helps individuals build the skills and knowledge necessary to advance their careers in the hospitality industry. Employees benefit from comprehensive health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and unique perks such as on-site wellness programs, local discounts, and employee rates on hotel stays. The company’s People First culture truly sets it apart, offering a supportive and collaborative work environment for both seasoned professionals and those just starting out in their careers.
One of Pyramid Global Hospitality's distinguished properties is The Wigwam, a Four Diamond, historic Arizona landmark located in Litchfield Park, AZ. Established in 1929, The Wigwam sprawls across 440 scenic acres and offers 331 guest rooms, delivering an authentic Arizona experience. The property embodies the company’s commitment to excellence and is deeply connected to Arizona’s history. The Wigwam is currently seeking an Executive Chef to join its dedicated team. This role requires a highly motivated and passionate individual who thrives in a dynamic hospitality setting and is eager to contribute to curating exceptional guest experiences that leave lasting memories.
As an Executive Chef at The Wigwam, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating innovative, seasonal menus that reflect the restaurant’s concept and resonate with the hotel’s diverse guest mix. This position involves food and beverage merchandising for various retail elements and requires continuous analysis of menus and procedures to optimize profit and quality. The Executive Chef will stay ahead of industry trends and make changes based on guest preferences, ensuring that daily, seasonal, and special event menus enhance the overall guest experience. There is a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and sanitary production standards, with the Chef leading efforts to maintain these across all food preparation.
The role also includes forecasting purchases to maintain food costs in line with budgetary constraints and developing purchase specifications that meet rigorous food inspection and receiving standards. The Executive Chef will have oversight of stewarding department activities and personnel and will design and implement training and development plans to enhance the skills of culinary team members. Collaboration with the culinary team to provide quality food demonstrations and maintain recipe standards is vital. Additionally, the Executive Chef will create and manage an amenity program that reflects the spirit of the hotel and its environment, contributing creative solutions to wow guests.
Leadership and culture-building are essential components of this position. The Executive Chef embodies the company’s "One Team" philosophy, encouraging an environment where all employees feel empowered to assist guests and foster a welcoming atmosphere. The role involves consistent communication with senior management, including the General Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, and Human Resources, as well as partnering with the Corporate Chef to ensure program consistency and centralization. Pyramid Global Hospitality is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusivity, fostering a workplace where all individuals can thrive. Compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience, skills, certifications, and the specific location’s labor market.
