Job Description

The iconic Hotel del Coronado, one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world, is seeking a Resort Concierge Seasonal to join its team. Following a remarkable $400 million renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever. Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this beautiful 28-acre property has a rich history dating back to 1888. It features over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas, along with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and a variety of dining options including 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, a marketplace, an ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

The Resort Concierge Seasonal role at Hotel del Coronado is a full-time, seasonal position with various shifts that require availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The pay rate for this role is $22.16 per hour and varies based on applicable experience and location. The Concierge position is essential in ensuring guests receive a memorable and seamless experience by providing assistance and information related to their visit and the surrounding area.

As a Concierge, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including assisting guests with directions, hotel services, transportation, dining reservations, local events, and tour bookings. You will also handle guest requests and special services such as arranging medical care, childcare, and other personalized needs. Providing attentive and knowledgeable support, you will play a crucial role in enhancing guest satisfaction and fostering loyalty to the Hotel del Coronado.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience
  • Minimum of 1 year high-level customer service or concierge experience
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Availability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service
  • At least 1 year of high-level customer service or concierge experience
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Preferred 2 years in customer service or concierge roles
  • Preferred 1 year of experience in hotels

Job Duties

  • Provide information, recommendations and booking services for a variety of guest inquiries, including directions, hours of outlet operation, hotel services, transportation and travel arrangements, tour and event tickets, restaurant reservations, and medical care
  • Process and deliver messages for guests
  • Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for guests as requested
  • Arrange and confirm recreational, business and dining activities both inside and outside the hotel for guests
  • Respond to special requests for services including dentists, doctors, child care, florists, etc.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner whether in person, via email, Kipsu or over the phone
  • Promote company marketing programs and distribute printed materials as needed
