Job Description

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is a premier hospitality company recognized for its African-inspired resorts that house America’s Largest Indoor Waterparks. The company is known for delivering exceptional guest experiences through world-class dining options, luxurious spa services, thrilling entertainment venues, and state-of-the-art convention centers. As a family-owned business, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions emphasizes a core philosophy of leading with love. This philosophy directs how they interact with guests, associates, and the community — fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels valued and cared for like family. Their commitment extends beyond hospitality as well, demonstrated by their partnership with charity: water to provide clean water access to one million people in Africa.

The Seasonal Resort Barback position is an essential part of the Kalahari food and beverage team. This role focuses on supporting the bar operations to ensure a smooth, efficient, and memorable guest experience. The barback is tasked with maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar, enabling bartenders to focus on crafting exceptional drinks and engaging with guests. Serving as a supportive team member, the barback helps uphold Kalahari’s high standards for service, cleanliness, and organization in a fast-paced environment.

Seasonal Resort Barbacks contribute to the overall guest experience by ensuring the bar area is clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift, including managing necessary side duties like cleaning assigned stations. The role also includes serving food to guests seated at the bar, adhering to proper service protocols and presentation standards. An important part of the job is collaboration — barbacks assist other associates such as bartenders, servers, bussers, hosts, and management whenever needed to maintain seamless service flow.

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions offers a dynamic working environment that values growth and development. Employees enjoy comprehensive benefits, including career advancement opportunities, paid time off, health coverage for full-time associates, and various employee appreciation programs. The company is proud of its recognition by Forbes as one of America’s Best Midsize Employers and America’s Best Employers for Women, and USA TODAY’s ranking of its locations as the #1 Best Indoor Water Park.

Working as a Seasonal Resort Barback at Kalahari means being part of a team that truly leads with love — ensuring guest satisfaction while supporting fellow team members in a respected and rewarding hospitality environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking entry or continued experience in the service industry, particularly those who thrive in team-oriented roles and take pride in contributing to outstanding guest experiences.
