The Residential Assistant plays a critical non-clinical role within the Men's Road to Recovery program. This position involves performing, coordinating, and monitoring daily operations that facilitate a safe, supportive, and healthy living environment for clients. The Residential Assistant is essential in guiding new clients through orientation and admissions processes, ensuring compliance with community rules, facilitating client support services, and maintaining order within the facility. Working primarily on weekends during the first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, the Residential Assistant serves as a role model and point of contact for clients, providing assistance and problem-solving support as needed. This role demands a high level of responsibility including administering drug and breathalyzer tests, coordinating client appointments with social service agencies, monitoring safety and security, and maintaining precise documentation as required by health information standards.

The ideal candidate for this position will have at least a high school diploma or GED, with additional education viewed favorably, and a preferred background in working with substance abuse populations. A personal recovery experience of at least four years is highly valued, underscoring the program’s emphasis on empathy and lived understanding of addiction recovery. This role requires a valid driver’s license and access to an insured and inspected vehicle for transporting clients as necessary.
