Job Description
SHC Woods is a specialized mental health rehabilitation facility committed to providing recovery-oriented, person-centered mental health services to ambulatory adults living with symptoms of mental illness. The facility is part of the SHC network, which consists of four unique facilities dedicated to supporting individuals with mental health challenges through holistic care. SHC Woods offers a comprehensive range of programming, activities, therapeutic services, and 24-hour supervision, designed to help residents gain and maintain mental health stability while developing greater independence. Many residents transition from SHC Woods to independent living, supported by community resources, reflecting the success of the facility's recovery model.
The role of Resident Services Director (RSD) at SHC Woods is a full-time, first-shift position reporting directly to the Executive Director. This critical leadership position involves overseeing the facility's psychosocial rehabilitation program and providing clinical guidance and supervision to staff. The RSD is responsible for ensuring that the therapeutic care provided is comprehensive, effective, and aligned with a recovery-focused model that centers on the needs and goals of adults living with serious mental illness. The position's schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with some flexibility based on facility needs, and includes on-call availability to support continuous resident care. Compensation is negotiable, reflecting the specialized qualifications required for this essential role.
As the Resident Services Director, you will play a vital role in advancing the mission of SHC Woods by fostering an environment that supports recovery and promotes wellbeing. This leadership position requires a professional with a strong background in mental health, demonstrated supervisory experience, and a deep understanding of the recovery model approach. You will be expected to develop, implement, and supervise psychosocial rehabilitation programs tailored to the unique needs of residents while working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including social workers, mental health professionals, and nursing staff. Your ability to provide clinical guidance to direct care staff, facilitate effective communication among team members, and manage crises efficiently will be central to your success in this position.
SHC Woods is dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive workplace where employees can thrive. The successful candidate will find an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adults with serious mental illness by helping them regain autonomy and improve their quality of life. In addition to a competitive benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, a 401K retirement plan, and paid time off, SHC Woods promotes a culture of professional growth and development. If you are passionate about mental health rehabilitation and are equipped with the necessary credentials and experience, this position offers a rewarding career path in a respected mental health care setting.
