The role being offered is a part-time, non-management Reservations Specialist position located at 10 Avery Street, Boston, Massachusetts. This role is pivotal in ensuring flawless reservation processing for guests, handling all communication related to room bookings, modifications, cancellations, and special requests. With a competitive pay rate of $34.20 per hour, this position requires individuals who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and skilled in hospitality sales techniques to maximize revenue opportunities.

The primary responsibilities include processing room reservations across multiple channels such as phone, fax, and email while identifying guest needs, determining appropriate room types, verifying availability and rates, and clearly communicating policies including guarantees, special rates, and cancellation terms. The Reservations Specialist will also handle VIP guest reservations with particular attention, utilize reservation systems proficiently to manage data accurately, and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve any booking issues. Group reservations must be carefully managed through proper room blocking, inventory control, and meticulously organized documentation to ensure seamless group accommodation experiences.

Job Duties

  • Respond to inquiries about facilities, services, and accommodations
  • Follow sales techniques to maximize revenue
  • Communicate reservation information for VIP guests
  • Enter and access data in reservation systems
  • Resolve reservation issues by liaising with relevant departments
  • Monitor accuracy of room blocks and reservations
  • Manage group room lists and blocks using reservation systems
  • Maintain organized files for groups
  • Set up billing accounts according to accounting policies
