Recognized for its commitment to safety, integrity, and environmental stewardship, NMS is a leader in delivering high-quality housekeeping and maintenance services essential to sustaining operational facilities in challenging environments. The company is renowned for fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values respect, dignity, and equal opportunity for all employees while supporting the unique needs of remote camp operations. NMS offers a unique opportunity for individuals seeking employment in remote settings with rotating shifts and an emphasis on teamwork and safety compliance. This remote housekeeper role is classified as a remote rotational position based in Fairbanks, Alaska, entailing travel to various remote camp sites as required by contract duties. NMS reinforces its strong commitment to safety and operational excellence through stringent adherence to cleanliness standards, safety regulations, and environmental conservation principles.
The Remote Housekeeper position at NMS Camp Services is pivotal in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation at remote camps, industrial facilities, food service areas, office spaces, and other similar locations. The role requires performing various cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, and trash disposal to ensure that these environments are clean, safe, and orderly. Workers may also engage in light maintenance duties, including changing light bulbs, clearing debris, and minor building upkeep, alongside specialized cleaning tasks and laundry duties. This position involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, often in Arctic or challenging weather conditions, and requires physical stamina to stand or move for up to twelve hours per shift. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, adhere strictly to safety protocols, and collaborate effectively with team members and clients. Successful applicants must undergo pre-employment assessments including drug testing, physical fitness, and hearing tests and comply with travel requirements to designated testing facilities primarily located in Fairbanks, AK.
This job opportunity is ideal for individuals with prior experience in commercial or industrial housekeeping environments, possessing knowledge of cleaning equipment and processes, and who are able to adapt to remote living conditions, including dormitory-style accommodations. The remote housekeeper role ensures that every facility's hygienic standards are met to promote a healthy and productive environment for all occupants. As a non-supervisory position, the housekeeper focuses on the operational and support aspects of facility maintenance. NMS Camp Services champions core values such as safety, honesty, commitment, respect, and environmental protection, making it not just an employer but a community-centric workplace that prioritizes the wellbeing of both employees and the ecosystems they serve.
