The institution has built a reputation for providing personalized service and fostering long-term relationships with members by offering tailored financial solutions that empower members to achieve their financial goals. First Tech operates across multiple locations, including the State Street Community Experience Center in Salem, Oregon, where this role is based.
The Relationship Banker role at First Tech Federal Credit Union is a frontline position that serves as a crucial financial partner—referred to as financial MDs—to its members. This position is inherently customer-centric, combining fast-paced transactional duties with consultative sales responsibilities. Relationship Bankers engage with members in various ways including in-person, over the phone, and through email, ensuring a comprehensive and personalized banking experience. The role involves processing routine financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and cashier's checks while rigorously adhering to regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
Beyond transaction processing, Relationship Bankers are tasked with establishing and maintaining member deposit and loan accounts. The role emphasizes a high quality of member service through proactive communication, responsiveness to member concerns, and collaborating with other specialized service teams such as insurance, investments, premier services, and mortgage departments to provide holistic financial solutions for members. This consultative approach helps members identify the most appropriate products and services tailored to their unique financial circumstances and aspirations.
A critical aspect of the position includes meeting defined quarterly metrics and service objectives related to campaigns, cross-selling, referrals, as well as meeting sales targets and incentive programs. Relationship Bankers are expected to complete mandatory compliance training within specified timelines to remain well-informed about the latest offerings and products. This ensures that they are always equipped with accurate knowledge necessary to advise members effectively.
The role also involves essential administrative responsibilities such as updating account information, performing follow-up outreach to new and existing members, and supporting overall member engagement efforts. This multifaceted position requires excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Positioned at the State Street Community Experience Center in Salem, Oregon, this role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.50 to $24.75 plus the opportunity to earn quarterly incentives. The company also provides a robust benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401K matching, paid time off, and special employee pricing on financial products.
