Specializing in short shelf-life, fresh prepared foods, Bakkavor focuses on delivering healthy, convenient, and delicious options for consumers who refuse to compromise on quality even in their busiest moments. The company operates through five facilities in the United States and is currently experiencing exponential growth, driven by high product demand and significant infrastructure improvements. Established as a prominent player in the fresh prepared food market, Bakkavor is committed to excellence and continuous enhancement in all aspects of its operations. In 2021, Bakkavor achieved excellent performance metrics and anticipates even stronger growth and success throughout 2022, making it an exciting time to join the team. The company culture emphasizes innovation, quality, teamwork, and customer focus, creating a dynamic environment for employees to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the company’s mission. Bakkavor values regulatory compliance and food safety as fundamental pillars supporting its product development and customer satisfaction efforts, ensuring all products meet rigorous standards and consumer expectations. The organization prides itself on fostering a collaborative workplace where technical expertise and leadership abilities are cultivated and effectively utilized to support both company and customer goals. The role of Regulatory Technical Services Technologist is a critical position within Bakkavor’s USA Central Technical Department, reporting directly to the Corporate Technical Services Manager. This role supports both Bakkavor and its customers by managing technical product information that includes compliance with regulatory guidelines such as FDA and USDA standards and special certifications including Kosher, Organic, Gluten-Free, and Non-GMO. The Regulatory Technical Services Technologist acts as a technical expert helping to ensure that the company’s products meet all legal and customer requirements throughout their development and production lifecycle. Responsibilities include working closely with research and development teams to validate product feasibility and compliance during the product lifecycle, evaluating supplier ingredient information, and developing accurate product labeling including nutrition facts and ingredient statements using specialized software like ESHA Genesis. This position also involves maintaining customer databases, supporting regulatory label submissions and approvals, and ensuring that product labels meet FDA/USDA requirements. This technologist is integral in updating internal quality assurance databases, supporting supplier approval processes, and managing various quality and food safety systems. Furthermore, leadership and teamwork play a significant role in this position, as the individual will promote safety, lead meetings, and coordinate efforts across departmental teams to meet project goals on time and within budget. Customer focus is also paramount, as the individual supports resolution of customer feedback, maintains professional communication with customers, coordinates accurate technical product information, participates in relevant regulatory training, and ensures compliance with safety requirements during supplier and customer visits. The Regulatory Technical Services Technologist role offers the opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, innovative company dedicated to delivering fresh, quality food products that meet stringent regulatory and customer standards, making it an ideal position for individuals who are passionate about food science, regulatory compliance, and technical leadership.
