Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year experience in front desk or patient intake role within dental or medical clinic
- strong customer service techniques
- basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- ability to work full-time 7.5 hours per day, five days per week
- availability for varying shifts including evenings
- professional communication skills
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- maintain confidentiality
- ability to work independently and in a team
- physical ability to sit majority of the day and occasionally stand, walk, reach, push, and bend
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of one year experience with front desk and patient intake in dental or medical clinic
- excellent customer service skills
- basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- knowledge of dental terminology and insurance billing procedures helpful
- familiarity with Axium or other clinic patient information systems desirable
- professional communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to manage multiple responsibilities accurately
- maintain confidentiality
- bilingual Spanish or Cantonese preferred
Job Duties
- Welcome patients to the School of Dentistry
- triage and direct patients to appropriate area or department
- communicate with clinic staff regarding patient arrivals
- observe and ensure smooth flow through patient entrance and registration area
- report issues to Public Safety or appropriate personnel
- assist patients with check-in process and kiosk instructions
- verify DentiCal eligibility and complete insurance intake forms
- coordinate emergency patient walk-ins including registration and scheduling
- handle incoming calls during non-peak hours
- respond to requests for additional chart information
- serve as backup for Main Clinic Schedulers
- maintain a clean and orderly work area
- perform other duties as assigned
