As part of a nationally recognized healthcare system, Tenet North Cal emphasizes innovative patient care, advanced medical technologies, and a collaborative work environment for healthcare professionals. Their mission centers on patient-centered care, clinical quality, and compassionate service, making them a reputable employer in the healthcare industry.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Manager position in Neurology, based in Modesto, California, is a critical leadership role at Tenet North Cal. This part-time, ongoing staff role consists of a 36-hour workweek with 12-hour day shifts. The RN Manager will report directly to the Patient Care Services Director and play a pivotal role in coordinating nursing services during their shift to ensure optimal patient care and staff collaboration. This position requires the application of nursing processes combined with strong organizational and leadership skills to manage staff effectively and provide age-appropriate, developmental stage-specific care to neurology patients.

The RN Manager in Neurology is responsible for overseeing the daily nursing operations on the unit, assessing staffing needs, and working closely with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to fulfill these requirements. This position is designed for an experienced acute care nurse with three to five years of relevant clinical experience and nursing skills specific to neurology care. Managerial communication skills are preferred to facilitate effective team leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Candidates must hold an active California Registered Nursing license, possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, and obtain the Trauma Center Advanced Resuscitation (TCAR) certification within 12 months of hire. There is an expectation for continuous education and compliance with credential requirements, including obtaining and maintaining the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) education module within six months of starting or transferring to the unit.

This role requires physical capabilities such as lifting and positioning patients up to 50 pounds, moving equipment with significant force, and performing tasks that involve reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and manual dexterity. The RN Manager must also demonstrate the ability to quickly respond to fast-paced clinical situations. Vision adjustment is necessary to carry out the responsibilities efficiently.

Working conditions involve exposure to contagious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, radiation hazards, biohazards, and unpredictable emergency situations. The role demands resilience and adaptability under stress, with the ability to manage irregular hours and handle multiple calls and inquiries during shifts.

This RN Manager - Neurology role offers nursing professionals the opportunity to take on a leadership position in a respected healthcare setting, providing specialized neurology patient care while fostering a supportive and efficient team environment.
