Job Requirements
- must be a registered nurse with a California nursing license
- able to lift and position patients up to 50 lbs
- capable of pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs of force
- able to perform reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- have manual dexterity and mobility
- able to move quickly
- willing to work irregular hours
- able to handle exposure to contagious and bloodborne diseases
- able to handle exposure to radiation hazards and biohazards
- tolerate emergency and crisis situations
Job Qualifications
- active California Registered Nursing license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- trauma center advanced resuscitation (TCAR) certification within 12 months of hire
- national institute of health stroke scale (NIHSS) education module within 6 months of hire
- three to five years of acute care nursing experience
- managerial communication skills preferred
Job Duties
- coordinate nursing services during the designated shift
- assure patient care is appropriate to patient's age and developmental level
- assess staff needs for the unit
- collaborate with staffing coordinator, Nurse Director and Administrative Nursing Supervisor
- ensure patients needs are met
- manage and support nursing staff during shift
- maintain compliance with nursing certifications and education requirements
