Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current state licensure to practice within good standings
Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current certification
Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current certification
Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if pediatric care is included in facility scope within 90 days or documentation of current certification
One year of ICU, ED, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
Specialty certification in Perioperative or perianesthesia nursing preferred

Job Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
One year of ICU, ED, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
Current state licensure to practice within good standings
Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment
Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment
Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if pediatric care is included in scope
Specialty certification in Perioperative or perianesthesia nursing preferred

Job Duties

Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA
Assess patient's preoperative status including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic, pain, and mental status
Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors
Develop individualized perianesthesia plan of care including patient safety and comfort measures
Provide education and involve patient or support person in perioperative plan
Document episode of care accurately and legibly
Collaborate effectively with perioperative team and participate in quality improvement projects
