Job Description

MetroWest Medical Center is a leading healthcare organization deeply rooted in community commitment, having served since 1893 when it first opened as the public medical facility in Framingham. The center comprises two primary hospitals: Framingham Union Hospital, which offers comprehensive health care services including 24-hour emergency care, advanced cardiac care, high-tech cancer treatments, and specialized maternity services such as a Special Care Level IIB nursery and high-risk pregnancy care. Alongside this is Leonard Morse Hospital, a unique behavioral health specialty center dedicated to the mental health needs of the community in Natick. Renowned for excellence, MetroWest Medical Center has earned the prestigious Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission, reflecting its dedication to quality care and meeting rigorous performance standards. In 2023, its cardiac team was recognized among Healthgrades America's 100 Best Hospitals for Coronary Intervention and ranked in the top 5 percent nationally for coronary interventional procedures.

The role in focus is designed to provide integral leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), overseeing nursing and patient care functions within the hospital organization. This leadership position requires a dedicated professional who will share in the responsibility of assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices at the unit level, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of patient care. The role demands 24/7 availability to manage assigned areas, emphasizing operational oversight and resource management to maintain quality, safety, and the competency of clinical staff. It plays a crucial part in advocating for the nursing profession while serving as a role model and leader within the hospital environment. Candidates for this position should expect to contribute actively to the hospital’s mission of delivering exceptional patient outcomes through superior clinical practice and operational excellence. Salary compensation ranges from $42.30 to $84.87 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, reflecting the role’s significance and impact within the healthcare team.
