Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 20 years
- Current state nursing license
- Completion of PEM training within six months of hire
- Valid CPR (BLS) certification
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to work under stressful and crisis situations
- Willingness to receive ongoing training in personal restraint and emergency procedures
- Flexibility to work full or part-time evening or overnight shifts
- Ability to operate computer software including Windows and Office programs
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current state license
- PEM training within six months of hire
- CPR (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
- Commitment to professional development and ongoing training
- Previous behavioral health nursing experience preferred
Job Duties
- Implements daily nursing care routines for youth including medication administration and education
- Oversees general health including infection control and scheduling medical appointments
- Provides emergency care and communicates untoward events to physicians and staff
- Participates in youth admission processes including mental and physical assessments
- Documents medical orders and nursing care complying with hospital guidelines
- Performs special treatment procedures and complies with emergency safety protocols
- Assists shift managers with supervisory and administrative duties
- Provides patient care and education appropriate to the youth population served
