Job Description
Thomasville Medical Center is a respected healthcare institution committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in Thomasville and the surrounding communities. As part of Novant Health, a leading integrated network of physician clinics, outpatient centers, and hospitals, Thomasville Medical Center prides itself on delivering compassionate and innovative medical services with a strong focus on teamwork and professional development. Known for its award-winning care, including recognition for excellence in stroke management and diabetes care, the center continually invests in cutting-edge technology and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure the best outcomes for its patients.
The Med-Surgical (Med-Surg) Unit at Thomasville Medical Center represents more than just a workplace; it is a place where nurses can thrive through strong support, professional growth opportunities, and a culture centered on respect and compassion. The unit specializes in adult acute care, focusing on patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions. Nurses joining the night shift team will work from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., full-time, Tuesday through Saturday, contributing to this dynamic, team-driven environment.
This role offers a comprehensive orientation process that includes protected time in the on-unit simulation lab, where nurses can practice clinical skills, procedures, and hospital policies in a supportive and safe setting. Continued education through simulation refreshers, skills fairs, and evidence-based training ensures nurses maintain confidence and stay current on best practices.
Leadership at Thomasville Medical Center's Med-Surg Unit is deeply committed to mentoring and professional development, with a dedicated Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, and Lead Preceptor ready to support nurses at every stage of their career. Nurses also have a voice in practice improvements through the Shared Governance Council, fostering a collaborative environment of continuous improvement.
Technological resources such as Evident documentation systems in every patient room and daily interdisciplinary bedside rounds Monday through Friday further enhance patient care and facilitate communication among the care team, which includes physicians, case management, therapy, and pharmacy professionals.
The position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000 and relocation assistance up to $7,500, making it an attractive opportunity for nurses seeking a supportive and growth-oriented workplace. At Thomasville Medical Center, nurses who take pride in clinical excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care will find an environment where their contributions are valued and their growth is nurtured. This role supports nurses who want to be actively involved in unit-based decision-making, helping shape the future of patient care in the Med-Surg Unit.
Joining this team means becoming part of Novant Health's broader mission to provide remarkable care through courage, personal growth, belonging, and respect — all while delivering meaningful, evidence-based nursing practice in a setting that prioritizes patient outcomes and professional fulfillment.
